Don’t Forget These Last Checks Before Getting the Keys!

Settlement day is almost here – exciting times! But before you pick up the keys and pop the champagne, it’s worth doing one final walk-through of your new home. Think of it as a quick checklist to make sure everything is just as it should be.

Here’s what to tick off:

• Utilities – Power, water and gas all connected.

• Inclusions – Appliances, curtains, and fittings are still there (and working).

• Keys & Remotes – Make sure they’re all ready for handover.

• Meter Readings – Jot them down so you start fresh.

• Condition – Check there’s been no new damage since exchange.

Taking 20 minutes now can save you a lot of stress later – and gives you peace of mind that you’re getting exactly what you agreed to.
